We lost Geoffrey Withnell I don’t know how or when, but his wife just left a message on my newsletter telling me he was gone.
He’s been a commenter here for a long, long time, and his input was always appreciated.
Ave atque vale, Geoffrey, godspeed until we meet again.
Raises glass. Drinks. Throws glass.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
All-powerful and merciful God, we commend to you Geoffrey Withnell your servant. In your mercy and love, blot out the sins he has committed through human weakness. In this world he has died: let him live with you forever. Through Christ our Lord, amen.
Out of the depths, I call to you, LORD; Lord, hear my cry!
May your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
If you, LORD, keep account of sins, Lord, who can stand?
But with you is forgiveness, and so you are revered.
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and I hope for his word.
My soul looks for the Lord more than sentinels for daybreak.
More than sentinels for daybreak, let Israel hope in the LORD,
For with the LORD is mercy, with him is plenteous redemption,
And he will redeem Israel from all its sins.
Amen, and thank you, Lord, for his time among us.
Eternal rest, grant unto him O Lord
And May perpetual light shine upon him
And May he Rest In Peace
And may his soul and the souls of the faithful departed
Through the mercy of God
Rest in Peace
May the Lord bless Geoffrey and his wife, and keep them; may He make His countenance to shine upon them, and grant them His Peace.
Vaya con Dios.
May his family be blessed with the strength and grace to bear up in this most trying of times. May all who knew him remember him well. May we meet again one day, when the trials of this life are done.
Fair winds, Geoffrey Withnell. The earth is the richer, and we the poorer this day.
May his soul rest in the light of God and may his loved ones all be granted graces of consolation.
Geoffrey, don’t be a stranger. See if He will give you a pass to come visit sometime.
I always hope Jerry will.
Damn. I didn’t talk to him much but he was a good guy from what I saw. He’ll be missed.
Fair winds and following seas…
God rest his soul and grant him pardon and peace. Amen.
Fair skies and tail winds. raises glass To absent friends.

May your family be blessed by your memory. RIP
Since I appear to be under a shadow ban, I shall not castigate you soundly, Sarah, for not seeing that I posted this on my Facebuchenwald page, lo, these 18 days gone past.
If you didn’t know it, Steve Saintonge passed last summer, too.
Thought for the day:
Leftism doesn’t evolve, it evilves.
I’ve been either sick or writing, so not on much.
I knew about Saintonge.
We’re getting old. More friends on the other side….
Just wrapped up my “working” day, and saw this. Good thing, very hard to concentrate when the eyes keep tearing. A grievous loss.
Here yesterday, gone today, remembered for whatever years I have left.
Sarah, I assume that you will post when/if you have a place to send contributions, either to the family or whatever other place he might have wished.
Amen to all of the prayers already made and to be made.
I’ve emailed his wife.
A post about this. Curious how friends of friends often have similar qualities.
I didn’t know, either.
WordPress frequently refuses to post my posts on various pages, but recently has been doubleposting them again.
WTF is it with all the good people suddenly dying? C’mon, universe, take out a swack of the useless bastards for a while, would you?
Rest in Peace.
Aww no…. Hugs
From 18 February:
