So…. I actually have guest posts, and I should have posted today. One of those at least. But it’s my anniversary and SOMEONE keeps interrupting my attempts at quality time with the computer. GEESH
Yeah. Okay. So, Dan keeps interrupting me, and I feel it would be a little rude to say no right now considering he made me — cough — an honest woman 38 years ago today.
On that note…. THIRTY EIGHT YEARS? where did the time got? And what happened to these kids?

Congratulations you two!

May you treasure each other’s presence, honor each other’s sacrifice, and appreciate each other’s many qualities that make the puzzle pieces fit. May there be joy to be had in the years to come, together, for all the days you share.
And may there always be another adventure, experience, or epiphany that brings you closer in ways you never knew.

Think the time flew for 38 and 25? Try 45! (Two weeks ago -ish.) It was just yesterday! Honest!

52 yesterday.
Simple rule. All I have to do is give her what she needs before she asks.
Only problem, what she needs may not be what she wants.
I said simple, not easy.

Not Dec 16, of 78, was it?

@dep729, if it was the 16th of December (the math says ’78), then you share the date with my own folks and my old scoutmaster. Whatever the date WAS, happy sapphire anniversary!

Thank you.
Yes. Dec. 16, 1978.
First Saturday after fall term finals. I had one term left. My grades sky rocketed my last two terms. Grades had already gone up after upper class BS elimination of curve grading. But having my very own tutor also helped. We survived that our first 3 months (six if you count the pre-wedding/post-engagement 3 months). Plus we had a roommate for those 6 months.
Congrats to your folks and old scoutmaster.

10 June, 1978, started my second course in never being right! Still here, 45 years after, better then half of our lives, thick, thin, eventful. Enjoy your “younger” years, Sarah and Dan. Pretty soon, you’ll get “old” like us! VBG

What’s fun is that she was MY friend first (we had been sewing theater costumes for HS together) and only discovered HIM later!

38 years, what a great start! I’ve only been at it for 25 (started late, but right on time) and I notice that despite the gray hair, lines and a more abundant corporeality my lovely (and lively!) bride is cuter than ever. I would be shocked if Dan hadn’t expressed similar to you.

An adventure is. always better when you have a traveling companion.
Even better than knowing where your towel is. And if you find a companion who will share their towel, better yet!

Everyone, here are a couple of goals to aspire to:
Maternal Aunt & Uncle: 68 years (and counting) as of early winter ’23 (ages 82 and 85)
Paternal Aunt & Uncle: 62 years (and counting) as of summer ’23 (ages 86 and 89)

I’ll be at 23 in a few weeks. My parents and my in-laws both made it to the late 40s, but my FiL and dad both died before they made it to 50.

FIL died before they made their 50th.
Dad died before they made their 54th.
OTOH maternal grandparents almost made it to their 75th (would have been August the year they died).

Congrats from me, as well. Someone mentioned our hostess’s beauty ‘in the picture’. Hey we are all here for the same reason; I was well aware of Sarah’s beauty long before I had any idea what she looked like! The fact that she was also able to charm the EYES of her spouse is just icing on the cake. And many more!

My dress was my mom’s first. :-) Little longer on me (I’m 6″ shorter). Little difficult to post picture.

I don’t know where the album with the other wedding pictures is since two moves ago. This one has aged a little weirdly, color wise.
Dan was never that dark, for ex.
The dress was from Italy, for some reason. It’s under my bed, in case there are granddaughters and one of them wants to wear it for some reason.

Mom still has her dress. None of the granddaughters have wanted to wear it. But there are some great-granddaughters (oldest is 11, 5, 3, and 4 months). In addition it was made by my maternal grandmother.
