    1. I repeated that quote just yesterday to my high school bro, a rabid pro-2A Republican, and he’d never heard of it or its authorl

We need to make Ayn Rand read again. She’s always been great.

    1. Let me translate that from Southern for our less fortunate Yankee companions on this site. “Bless your heart” = “Ain’t you just the stupidest little f-tard?”

  2. I hadn’t seen the “Schrödinger’s catgirl” story before, so I sent it to my wife. She replied that she’d seen it here and there over the years. I replied, “Whereas I hadn’t. And since we are one flesh, that means we both had and had not seen it… until today when the waveform collapsed.”

    1. Commies can fly. Definitely. It’s quite literally documented and proofed and has many, many peer reviewed sources.

Landing on the other hand has received no stars from participants of said unaided and unpowered flight. No complaints either, come to think of it. Except from other Commies, but we don’t court those idiots quite deliberately.

  3. Not only have I survived multiple rides in the open bed of a pickup, I also lived through my uncle spitting tobacco juice out the window and hitting me square in the eye as I peeked around the cab to see how far it was to the asphalt road. Granted, it’s the weaker eye these days, but I start Medicare next month so my astigmatism is more likely to be from age than tobacco.

    1. A cautionary Medicare tale for my fellow ExFed retirees; the rest of you should listen up too.

I’ve been trying to enroll in United HealthCare’s Medicare Advantage plan they offer as part of the Federal Employee Heath Benefits coverage I’ve had for the last 18 years, nine of which have been as a retiree. Despite four calls to UHC since August 14, I’m still not enrolled and can’t do so until December even though I’m eligible in November. It should be breathtakingly simple: I turn 65, UHC moves me to their Medicare Advantage plan automatically since there’s no additional cost to me and I get more benefits than regular Medicare, and if I don’t want it I can drop it or change to another Advantage plan before the deadline in early December.

The problem, you may ask? OPM hasn’t sent UHC my electronic Medicare eligibility record DESPITE the fact that HHS sent my Medicare enrollment card to me in early August. Also, OPM has been paying my pension since 2018 and therefore know (1) my age, (2) I’m retired, and (3) I’m still alive. This is a trivial problem easily solved by a dimwitted freshman computer science undergrad and a relational database script, but obviously the left government hand is too busy defrauding the right hand to actually talk to each other.

UHC says I have to contact OPM to unscrew the problem, yet every time I call the OPM helpline all I get is “We’re too busy to take your call. Try again later, loser!”

And you think bigger government is the solution? Well, bless your heart.

      1. Here is naught at venture, random nor untrue—
Swings the wheel full-circle, brims the cup anew.

Here is naught unproven, here is nothing hid:
Step for step and word for word—so the old Kings did!

Step by step, and word by word: who is ruled may read.
Suffer not the old Kings: for we know the breed—

All the right they promise—all the wrong they bring.
Stewards of the Judgment, suffer not this King!

  6. And this is why AI is dangerous when moved outside of narrow technical grounds.

    https://hotair.com/david-strom/2026/10/31/misinformation-npr-reveals-democrat-scheme-to-fool-ais-into-deceiving-voters-n3820548

This is a far more sophisticated version of a tactic Democrats have used in the past: creating fake newspapers delivered to people’s homes, presented as “news” but really PR packages for candidates or parties.

But those were fairly transparent; seeding fake news into AI is not, because AI presents information as if it comes from neutral “news” sources, when in fact it is just laundered propaganda not identified as such.

In much the same way that Google will launder Wikipedia answers as authoritative in its AI summaries, making the left-leaning “editors” at the site extremely powerful in creating a Truman Show reality, the fake “news” sites provide another layer of credibility to campaign propaganda.

My friend’s invitation said ‘strict plague doctor aesthetic’, which everyone interpreted differently, but awesomely, and then we ate pizza, took pictures, and went on a jaunt – nay, a procession along Main Street, like the cryptids we aspire to be.

And as to canon, the current generation of professional pretenders all have demonstrated they clearly hate it so much, and as a result never touch the stuff, such that it’s fallen subject to the clear text of the abandoned canon salvage rules, so the fans can board and take canon over with a clear conscience.

    Meanwhile, a fan has AI make a video in which Hermoine complains because Malfoid (who is in the foreground; all of the characters have their backs to the viewer) is bigger than she is. ^^;;
