The Extraordinary Promo posts will resume

But not tonight. My assistant has a case of the never-get-wells that’s floored her (and she’s a kid.) And I am feeling like crud and didn’t sleep almost at all last night. Also had bad news about my brother this morning. No, he’s still with us, but… if you’re the praying kind, a prayer heavenward appreciated.

I’m debating going to bed early.

  1. I mean, well, robbing yourself of sleep with no actual profit in mind is clearly the most important goal in life.

(more seriously, I do make some poor choices at times)

I really don’t think that taking a day or two break from the unusual promotion before returning to finish it will hurt anything, and your health and sanity are fairly important things.

  2. Hugs. There’s a nasty crud going around. My brother-in-law had just gotten it when we came home from an event we did the first weekend of March, and he’s just really getting over it as we’re closing out April. I had to work our second show of March with it, although I was never laid flat like he was. I’m still having some nasal issues, although it’s uncertain how much is crud and how much is indoor and outdoor allergies (it’s not the flowers you see, but the flowers you *don’t* see that cause the latter).

Prayers and positive energy for your brother’s situation.

        1. Part of the issue is that the airplane tickets are very expensive right now. Dan said I should go and see him anyway, but …. I can’t in good conscience spend that kind of money (besides the fact the trips almost kill me these days.)
Until I got married, though, he was my best friend and confident. (Despite our age difference.) And despite political differences, we remained pretty close through my thirties. We fell out of contact a bit because Portuguese is difficult for me now and I was very busy the last 20 years. That’s all. But of course I still love him.

      1. So sorry to hear that last one — hoping the doctors can keep helping him beat it.

(Lost my maternal grandfather to lung cancer in 1972 — in those days, nobody realized the danger of breathing in agricultural chemicals, so farmers didn’t wear respiratory protection, and treatments were far more primitive than what’s available today).

      2. Glad you are feeling better.

So sorry about your brother. He is older now. He beat the cancer before. Treatments are a lot better now.

        Prayer’s sent.

  3. Prayers up for everyone. Especially for those suffering from lung cancer.

May the Author’s healing spirit be upon them all and grant those who suffer a speedy and complete cure.

Also bring peace to the worried family members.
