Yes, i should be blogging an old book — Anthro the Life Giver — and I bought it and everything. And then…. I’ll be battered and deep fried if I have any idea where I put it. It doesn’t help I’m in the middle of the great organization and cleaning…. I hope I didn’t donate it. It was very expensive. I wish I had it electronic, because then I couldn’t lose it

Anyway… I’d be worried about Alzheimers except I’m better than I was in my twenties. This is mostly ADHD. And right now working on two books at once.

But there are advantages to being old, and having seen this movie before. Movie? Well, a lot of you are getting very worried about Minnesota. Because the media is doing their usual stuff of spinning up the crazies and the poor people who don’t know better — including some my age who blindly listen to the MSM — to think that ICE is Gestapo, or that they are doing anything other than deportations (And not enough of those, d*mn it.)

Look, back in 2004 when I was sure Kerry would win because of all the noise and fury? A friend in the Heinlein group, who was then in his eighties, so I don’t hold much hope of his still being with us — but he might be — said that you can tell when the left is losing because they get unbearably loud.

At the time I doubted him. Look, I was a kid. Barely in my forties. But since I’ve observed he was right. Every time he was right.

So, what is going on? Well, it used to be they made a lot of noise to convince you they were winning. But that hasn’t worked — really — since sixteen. Oh, 2020. 2020 was all fraud. they didn’t even try noise. The only noise was after, to convince us that Trump had justly lost. And if you bought it — so many on the right did — shame on you. And if you’re over some age, usually 55 your college should let you audit mathematics classes cheaply. Oh, there was the second prong to their fraud, which was the theater of Black Lives Matter. That theater and that loud — yes it was just loud theater. That’s why they only could do two cities at a time, why the pallets of bricks, and why the whole thing vanished overnight once they got their puppet in — was on the marginal chance they could get black people to vote for the corpse (likely worked with some. Who knows?) but mostly so people like the supreme court would be afraid to call out fraud, because they thought the country was in uprising and they’d get killed.

Their psyops are rarely aimed the way you think. The “All the right are anti-Semites” thing was aimed at democrat Jews to keep them in line (More the fool them if they fall for it, but heck, some of y’all on the right did. Shame on you. It’s an obvious and transparently naked psy-ops.) It panicked the right, but it was aimed at leftist Jews.

In the same way the insanity in Minnesota and the attempt to wind up more patsies and mentally ill to martyr themselves is aimed not at us but at their side, to shore up belief and fervor.

Ghost dancing. It’s all ghost dancing.

Is it working? Well. Some people are in conquered areas, so it’s really hard to know if the psy-ops works or if they’re making mouth-noises for the equivalent of painting lamb’s blood on the doorposts and hoping the dark angel of communism passes by. This goes for occupied professions and other areas where people falsify their preference. I know people who falsify their preference (And very well at that) exist because I did for years. And I have friends still submerged everywhere from Academia to the arts. They do what they have to do and say what they have to say because baby needs shoes. And sometimes because they’re grimly, stone-facedly engaged in their own version of the long march. I.e. if this all falls apart they want to be our men — and women — on the inside, who can make sure the left’s victory is dead aborning. This of course requires extremely good “passing” so you’ll find them coming out with some of the most hilarious — but not to the left — hot takes.

And then there’s the mentally ill, the disaffected, those without connections, and people who could never ever ever read human emotions one on one, much less over all the country. The left is very “lucky” that 2020 created so many more of them. They’re still a minority. They are also the ones they’re trying to convince with crazy stuff like “ICE is not law enforcement” And “ICE is taking American citizens off the streets and disappearing them.”

They want these people to believe that nonsense, because that creates more martyrs. And they think martyr blood will propel them to renewed power.

They are wrong. They are profoundly wrong. It almost worked in the seventies, at least in a lot of places. Not not in all and not for long.

And their odds in the seventies were so much better than now.

You might not realize that, because you weren’t around or really tuned in to politics in the seventies (I learned early that even if you’re not interested in politics, politics is very interested in you. Like people in beaches at risk of sneaker waves, I haven’t turned my back on it since.)

And I remember the seventies. “The left is going to win” and “communism is the future” was more plausible then. A whole lot more plausible. It wasn’t just that they could point to the USSR and say “See, communism works. They have no crime and no poverty.” and they had the glossy magazines and the fact that the US treated Russia as a peer in armaments and as superior in morality (No? Really? What do you think USAID was about? They were convinced that the USSR was winning hearts and minds, and only way we could compete with that was throw money around.) Yes, some of us saw through it, but even with me, it took till I was 14 and I had NO PROOF. As with being sure world population is much smaller than advertised and started falling earlier than advertised, I had no way of proving it. Not even reports of having visited Those who visited the USSR were usually not of our persuasion, and they brought back stories of wonderful, and it took a jaundiced view to see through it.

So the left had a society that “was working” and was one of the world’s “superpowers” to point at and claim that was why communism would win. And they had the young. Dear Lord they had the young. If you weren’t at least paying lip service to “Both are equally bad” (Us and the USSR, no joke) you were regarded as an imbecile.

And of course, the megaphone of the media was impenetrable. To be not-on-the-left was to continuously apologize for all the manufactured “scandals” they created to marginalize those who opposed them. Nixon was the devil. Carter was a savior. Ford was a klutz. And on down to dog catcher level.

So they could stage big things, sit ins and walk outs and lockouts in every campus. After all, I’m told by those older than me that anti-war demonstrations were the way to pick up the cute chicks. That’s how you tell where the social power is. Being leftist was a positional good.

But even then, here — note, not in Portugal, not in a dozen other countries — the “get a pregnant woman shot so it ignites country-wide revolution” didn’t take. I don’t know the details of the poor woman who got shot at Kent, and whether she was a true believer or — merely — an oblivious passerby (Lord knows in Portugal in the seventies I oblivious passerbyed into some hairy situations. Children, if you learn nothing else from me, learn that it is stupid to walk around reading your science fiction paperbacks when spontaneous street battles can break out around the corner. Oh, also I almost got run over a bunch of times. What can I say it’s an addiction.) I could ask my husband who finished his degree at Kent and whose older brother attended immediately after that debacle, but I don’t want to just listen to ranting the rest of my day. He has opinions about the whole thing. They don’t accord the the “official” version you were taught in school. (Only time I saw my husband about to punch someone in SF was when Eric Flint went into the Kent incident. He got schooled at the top of Dan’s voice and had the good sense to shut up.)

However, even that, in the much more favorable conditions of the seventies failed to ignite the US into leftist (socialist, communist, whatever) revolution.

The Minnesota insanity is not going to ignite it now (Hey advantages of this, I can now spell Minnesota. That’s new!) when the USSR fell and despite the best attempts at covering the dung in perfume everyone knows more or less it was a miserable place. It’s not going to ignite now when the most fervent apologists for communism are either transparently venal or stupid or… well, mentally ill.

They couldn’t even find a normal looking pregnant woman. Think about that for a moment. And they have to blatantly LIE about what is going on. And most of the insanity (look, there’s crazy all over. After all Trump got shot in what was a rural area) is concentrated in one city, because that’s all they can commandeer.

And it’s only “taking” with a small portion of the population, and only because these people mostly follow the MSM which is outright lying, not just embroidering. On social media, you can see the left change opinions in real time and each hot take is worse. I keep staring at them and going “What on Earth are these people?” It’s like a new mountain of insanity appears behind the previous insurmountable peak. Yesterday my favorite were the chickies who convinced themselves the ICE agent in the Good Shot (Note spelling) has fled the country and then started running with that, how they guessed he wasn’t such a good patriot, etc. as though it had been proven. Though the idea that one can get internal bleeding from firing a 9mm one handed was also precious. No. Really.

It’s revolting, because the left is blatantly casting about for more martyrs, trying to ignite a revolution on top of a pile of bodies of those gullible or stupid enough to fall for their tricks. And they don’t seem to realize that the revolution they hanker for is impossible because most people now know that their philosophy is all steaming pile of shit and no pony. They might not know it at a level they can ARTICULATE but the renaming to “Democratic Socialism” didn’t happen because the “communist” brand was so wonderful.

They couldn’t do it in the seventies. They can’t do it now. As pinched and stupid as things were under the autopen we’re not a Latin American nation of noblemen and campesinos where the campesinos can be weaponized with some tawdry promises and ersatz hope. (Look, even Latin America is not like that anymore. The left doesn’t know that, which is why they tried to import it. Poor idiots think culture is genetic and doesn’t change ever.)

So all they are doing is replaying the greatest hits to get their fans to head bop. And most people — those not addicted to the vile politics stuff — are ignoring it.

Does this mean it’s harmless? No. Like with weaponizing crazies to shoot political figures, there are going to be victims on both sides. So minimizing that is a goal. If you have a family member or friend prone to buying this bullshit, if you love them (hey, I love FERAL cats) don’t argue the fundamentals of their belief — that are none, just slogans resonating in an otherwise empty head — but do tell them that yes, ICE are federal law enforcement, and yes, ICE have real guns with real bullets. Taunting, screaming in their ears, etc. will only go on till they feel threatened and then you’ll be dead. If you wouldn’t do it to an FBI agent, or your local policeman, don’t do it to ICE. There are less painful ways to commit suicide.

And if it’s just the elderly relative who believes the MSM, point out casually that no, there hasn’t been a single PROVEN case of ICE detaining (let alone deporting) an American citizen. The closest you get to that is the minor children sent back with their illegal parents, because the parent chose it so. And on that, don’t cry for them. The kids are American citizens. They’ll get welfare/support checks wherever they are. (One reason to nix birth citizenship.) In countries where life is much cheaper this is a huge thing. I went to high school with a pair of twins who were born while their mom was “visiting” the US. The entire extended family lived from their support payments.

Just pour some cold water in the MSM fervid lies. The most effective way is to say “I guess they don’t read social media. All these have been debunked” instead of frontally calling the MSM bald faced liars (which they are.)

What else?

Oh, yeah, stop panicking. I think part of the reason even the left isn’t getting that much “purchase” this time is their continuous whirlwind of “must fight for” causes that get dropped on a dime: Climate change, BLM, Palestine, now ICE. Even true believers at some point notice this get dropped COLD when the utility is past. There is no continuity, just a crazed search for “purchase” in people’s minds.

As for us, remember all the times the world was coming apart, including the kayfab fight in which Musk was now, for sure, going to go left (People, he’s not stupid) and help the left, and yes, all the other variations there of.

Even Gates has admitted the climate hoax was an hoax. It’s over.

The beast hasn’t fallen over, but it’s mortally wounded.

Dangerous? Of course it’s dangerous. But we’re not at danger of LOSING. The danger is the destruction it will create as it dies. And these things play out slowly. The death could take twenty years.

Be not afraid, but be not stupid. Don’t despair. Try to snatch brands out of the fire. BUT don’t run headlong to death. We’re not the left. Our cause is just. We don’t need martyrs. And you’re more precious to us alive than dead.

Now, in through your nose and out through your mouth. Deep breaths. You got this.

    At this point, I think The Troubles is the most likely scenario…but my nightmare is still 1990s Yugoslavia Turned Up To ’11’.

      3. They aren’t real bullets, according to the EU, because they were not made in the Spaghetti region of Italy using techniques over two thousand years old.

        According to the EU, counterfeit bullets are a serious problem with less effective terminal ballistics. They way they test that is to pull a bullet from the cartridge, and launch the bullet from a sling. Obviously the big pellets with the lightning bolt work the best, when you are comparing them using a sling.

        Anyway, cops with automatic pistols probably are not shooting blanks. If you get all of your information from the EU, they may fire sparkling projectiles, but they probably actually are real bullets for all intents and purposes.

        (I’m joking, of course, but also I may have accurately described the mindsets of the EU, and of these activist ninnies who are allegedly mentally competent adults.)

          If a bullet weighs X grains, and strikes a target at Y FPS, it will do Z damage. Doesn’t much matter what it’s made out of. A 150 grain spitball moving at 1500 FPS will kill, easily. Even the hot gases produced by a blank cartridge can be lethal a foot or more from the muzzle.

              1. Brandon Lee was shot with a bullet on-set after a series of tragic mistakes and coincidences while filming The Crow 2.

                In one shot, the director wanted to show a revolver from the front, with bullets visible in the cylinder bores. For that, they loaded dummy rounds with bullets, but no primers or powder.

                In the next shot, the gun was to be fired. The dummy rounds were removed and replaced with blanks. What nobody noticed was, one of the dummy rounds separated and the bullet wound up inside the gun barrel.

                When a blank was fired behind the bullet, it shot out of the barrel almost like they’d loaded a normal live round.

First, the man the good guys in Haven had as a suspect (for helping with falsified diplomatic correspondence with Manticore) “committed to suicide,” (with help from Mesa) in an aircraft accident, then the man who actually did the falsifying died in a real aircraft accident.

                The problem for the new government of Haven being “aircraft accidents,” were a favorite way for State Security to remove troublesome people.

        I remember in the struggle session that tore our SCA household apart, a Laurel (and a member of a very progressive Protestant denomination) proclaimed he would always be an “Ally,” in the Great Civil Rights Issue of Our Time. I am still confused whether it was proper pronoun use, but I think it was “transgender rights.” That, to him, was atonement for being an upper-middle-class married straight white guy.

        Discovered a couple of years later the breakaway household focused on gender issues refused to have him, while he’d pretty conclusively burned his bridges with the original household (which is almost moribund now, anyway). And his ambitions to rise higher in the Society hierarchy, which may have partially fueled his declaration, crashed and burned. I feel rather sorry for him, at the same time I take a bit of grim satisfaction.

      BTW his book Comrade Don Camillo felt like a balm to my soul when I was stuck in the seventies, with everyone saying how wonderful the USSR was. it wasn’t “proof” because well, Don Camillo was “partisan” (That’s the term the left uses for Anti-communist) but still I wasn’t alone.

      2. Partisan, in a Don Camillo context, meant anti-Nazi “resistance” by various elements in Italy. A certain amount of it was actual Communists (as opposed to the Mayor Peppino kind, who abjured first Moscow and then Marx over the course of the 1950s) trying to provoke Nazi reprisals against civilians in the hopes of radicalizing the people. That faction of the Partisans proceeded to culturally appropriate the Partisan label after the war, sweeping the anticommunists and the clergy involved under the rug.

  5. Yes, it’ll get ugly (more in some places that in others) before it’s over. The trick is, to as much as possible, avoid the idiots, and be prepared to respond appropriately to them if they try to bring the ugly to you and yours. Hopefully their survivors will learn a lesson in reality. (a very slim hope, but I do try to be optimistic at times).

    They need to learn how dangerous it is to mess with people that just want to be left alone.

    And again, don’t spend time despairing at what they want to do, spend your energy planning for how you are going to respond and overcome.

      2. Every time the Democrats scream about “the end of democracy” and that Trump wants to cancel elections, they are projecting. It is very clear that the latest round of violence and the screams by Democratic Party leadership and their media arm that Trump will cancel elections is intended to incite more murder attempts, not only on Trump, but on Vance and enough Republicans in the House so that they can make a Democrat Speaker of the House (the margins are that small) and then install that Democrat as President. As soon as they do that, they actively work to silence all dissent.

        Jeffries, the House Minority Leader, today threatened to go after everyone who the Democrats dislike once Democrats regain power. They intend to go full reign of terror should they regain power.

        They are engaged in an orchestrated coup attempt, the same way they tried in 2016, except this time the masks are off and they have no qualms about using outright murder to get their way,

  9. The loss of relevance would accelerate if the media is held more accountable for participation. With the revenue losses of large media corporations, and the ridicule shown to some of the leftist darlings of broadcast television, it’s becoming apparent more are pushing back against their propaganda. It’s not fast enough for me, but it’s encouraging to see the supposed wise members of the society of ridiculous assumptions having members diminish by attrition. My recommendation is refusing to watch the alphabet networks and recommending the same to family members. The more that do this decreases the time needed to remove those using the demanded integrity of the media for their evil purposes.

  10. I don’t think the BLM propaganda targeted the black population so much as it targeted the guilty/nostalgic elderly population, who either regret not being there for the Civil Rights Movement or miss the Civil Rights Movement.

    I think this because my mother, who was in the Peace Corps during the Civil Rights Movement, and thus not, you know, part of it, was susceptible to the BLM propaganda. Her half-black grandsons, my children, were Very Unimpressed with this and got verbally brutal. They are dispersed media generation, of course, and not nearly as susceptible to the mainstream narrative. They knew how to get access to cell phone and security camera videos of what was actually happening.

    1. Yeah, I’ve been listening to an older man, and thinking that I hear a bunch of thinking rooted significantly in very past decades.

      I mean, it was gauche of me to check this, even for entirely different reasons, but the crazy shooters simply are not available for attempting to mass murder blacks. Almost no American shooters want to fight and die for someone else’s mad scheme.

      I sorta understand why thinkers in their fifties or seventies have not been continuing to check whether saying the wrong thing can bring idiots out of the woodwork, but, most of the American men between 20 and 60 who know what a gun is, are not particularly suicidal, do not have ambitions to spend years in prison, and do not care how someone else wants the world rearranged.

      The Peace Corps fulfilled the “community service” requirement if a male obtained Conscientious Objector status to get out of the Vietnam War draft, so there was a bit of a sorting, with antiwar types predominating – see:

My fear right now is that Walz is concerned enough about everything (including what I’m certain will soon be definitive links to the corruption that’s coming out) that he goes full-on insurrectionist “against Trump”. After all, what’s he got to lose at that point? And he might even believe that there would be a large level of national support for him doing so.

    Will it work?

    Of course not.

    Will a lot of innocent people get hurt in the process?

    Definitely.

    Will people in other states (such as California and New York) start mayhem of their own in support?

    Quite likely.

    So I’m hoping he’s not considering it

Calling up the national guard and saying he is doing so to prevent federal officers from enforcing federal immigration law, while egging the violence on and calling the presence of federal officers not only enforcing immigration law, but investing the massive theft of federal taxpayer funds, as an invasion (Walz’s own words) is outright insurrection. His rhetoric is no different than John C. Calhoun’s and the rest of the those that decided they had the power to nullify federal laws they disliked.

His “call for calm” was a demand for the federal government to capitulate and stop enforcing immigration law, as he blamed the federal government and Trump for all of the violence and did not actually ask the violent leftists/Democratic Party operatives actively obstructing enforcement of immigration law to stop doing so. Democratic Party media is spinning it as his asking for calm, but his “calm” is actually a call for surrender, and to allow Minnesota to continue to defy federal law. It is the equivalent of asking the Union to calm down by not trying to defend Fort Sumter from attack by the Confederacy.

    1. I have to take your word for it. I had the opportunity to attend a handful of riots and/or demonstrations in my high school and college years, and I managed to avoid every one of them. So, can’t count on the beauty or lack thereof of the female participants.

      I can’t remember whose “law” it is: “The best way to survive a riot is to not be there.” [Paraphrased, I’m sure.]

      1. Avoid crowds is a solid piece of survival advice and common sense to boot. My experience was not quite at my own will, even though I was younger and dumber at the time. Even on a college campus, the female contingent of such energetic events was solidly in the “nope” territory. Not even boat beautiful, the most of them from foggy memories of earlier times.

  14. Probably my biggest worry is that the left will somehow manage to win (steal) enough seats to gain control of the House & Senate in the Midterms. There are still too many RINOs who will happily go along with them now and if the Ds get more control they will tie the Trump administration up in impeachments and other idiotic acts to prevent any real progress to be made. Which would just embolden their useful idiots and result in even more damage to our country.

    Hopefully I’m wrong and all their rotten behavior will drive more people away from them and encourage more efforts to insure they cannot steal their way back into power.

  17. I just saw a Yoo-Toob video about coroners finding amyloid blood clots in every single cadaver of people who got the mRNA not-a-vax shots. The ones without symptoms, it’s because the clots haven’t aggregated and become big enough to cause gross damage.

    Fauxi needs to be tried for crimes against humanity and strung up on a lamp-post.

      Now, this very moment, I am not constipated enough to believe this theory. But, I am interested in this theory.

      Ultimately, for any capital charges relating to all this, we are probably going to have to fall back onto more conventional legal thinking if we want to be broadly and entirely persuasive.

      1. There have been a few reports about spike proteins turning up in people who weren’t vaccinated, which is disturbing.

        OTOH, the people wailing that eveyrone who got vaccinated would be dead in three years obviously got it wrong, thankfully.

        1. Anyone vaccinated sheds the spike protein, all the time, everywhere they go. I would be surprised if it does not show up in the unvaccinated.

          As for dead in three years, no. Not everyone, anyway. Some died after getting the Shingles vaccine following their reception of the Coof jab, others died of heart attacks (all those “suddenlys”), more developed allergies that were sometimes lethal, no few have developed paralysis of the face and other complications, and some – it seems, though so far there’s not much in the way of data – have become mentally unstable.

          That’s not counting the miscarriages, chronic fatigue, appendicitis, and other issues. Lots of knock-on effects here that may make “you’ll be dead in three years” appear to be an optimist’s option, sadly.

And just to confuse matters, they’re using similar mRNA tech for several other vaccines (flu is the one I’ve heard the most), and there have been isolated cases of “compassionate medical personnel” giving people the vaccine whether they wanted it or not, especially when it was first rolled out.

  18. Sarah, the Reader hopes you are right. But the view from the Commonwealth at the moment is a bit black pilling to say the least. Abby Normal Spanberger got elected governor with a margin beyond fraud (I say that because the Demorat candidate for attorney general who a couple of years ago called for shooting his then legislative opponents squeaked by with what had to have been fraud). Along with her we got a supermajority Democratic legislature. They are busy turning Virginia into a copy of the worst of California, Colorado, Maryland and other blue heck holes. The Reader is planning his retreat from this mess (personal reasons as well) once he and his better half get some medical issues attended to. BTW, the Reader is convinced that folks beyond the Commonwealth should pay attention to Abby. She is clearly being groomed for bigger things.

The fact that here in the Formerly Golden All Mail In Voting State the close House races, per the daily Secretary of State “How many frauds do we still need?” public web counts, just kept “receiving” mail in ballots for the trailing Dems over our month (!) of post-election ballot counting until hey presto the R folks in the lead lost them all, was pretty obvious.

          That is why I am a paper ballot + voter ID + purple finger + one day to count them all and announce the results guy.

Most of the time he has no idea what’s going on, though if we need to be on high alert for my being doxed or something I give him a heads up.
      BUT that one, he straightened up, his shoulders went back. I don’t think lasers shot out of his eyes, but that’s how I remember it. And he said, “About Kent State–” And then he was off….. It was glorious. If you wind Dan up in a similar way, you’re likely to get a repeat, but please don’t. He’s a bit scary when he gets like that.
