    1. Years ago, I found a really good meme. I saved it and replied “Stolen.”

The womsn who had initially posted it started abjuct apologies, saying she had just found it online and didn’t know…

      I thought that was hilarious

  1. I was taught that knives go on the right when setting the table. Perhaps it’s like letterhead as there are more than one way to do those and I only know three.

      1. I did.

When Euros imagine how Americans eat breakfast, they almost never get the etiquette for placing the pistols correctly.

  2. The difference between hearing mermaids and hearing sirens is great.

“We sail in leaky bottoms and on great and perilous waters; and to take a cue from the dolorous old naval ballad, we have heard the mermaidens singing, and know that we shall never see dry land any more. Old and young, we are all on our last cruise.” Robert Louis Stevenson

  3. When I think to myself, “What the f*ck?!”, I like to imagine it in the voice of Inugame Korone, so that I have at least a bit of humor added to whatever it is that just outraged me.

(For anyone who doesn’t get the reference, do a search on YouTube for “korone what the faq”, and your question will be answered.)

  5. And that is not a REAL American breakfast. There is no coffee !!!

And the knife is set for the left hand

    1. Some of us use the knife in the left. At least I do after the initial trimming of the slab-o-meat. Yes, I was ambidextrous at birth, but was pushed to right hand over time. I still have sinister leanings.

Usually see that one labeled “When you rat out the dog.”

  7. The cost of those two rock lobster tails is more than my breakfast budget for two weeks, even with the current price for eggs! And where’s the bacon???

  8. wrote a longer post that seems to have been swallowed. The person who carried WuFlu onto the Diamond Princess left her on this day, 5 years ago.

Never forget what they did to us.

  9. It’s not always What the faq.

Sometimes it’s Who the faq. When the faq. Where the faq. How the faq. And most often, by far: WHY the faq? Why would somebody do this? Were they dropped on their heads as a baby? Dribbled like a basketball? Smacked like a piñata until all the brain cells with potential fell out? Did they eat the yellow snow? Lick the lead paint? Sniff the fumes? Are they on crack or something even dumber-making?

There has to be a reason somebody would do something so… utterly blinkered. And yet the evidence of mine eyes is uncontestable.

In other words, the Biden years personified. Yes, I work with the public on an almost daily basis. Despite my best hopes, some days make me question whether homo sapiens need to go back to the drawing board.

  10. I want to tell everyone about the Duck Tape one.

It’s a comic strip called “Tundra” by Chad Carpenter. Back in the early 90’s I lived in Alaska and Tundra started showing up in the Anchorage paper. It was funny as anything. Very similar in humor style to another comic called “Mother Goose and Grimm” (the author of which had been Chad’s mentor, so not a coincidence.) He’s still going strong today. Book of strips on Amazon, a patreon and you can find his comics at https://www.tundracomics.com/ funny stuff.

I met Chad after his first collection of strips came out. I have an autographed copy. He would sit at a little table in the Wasilla mall and sell his books and original art and I stopped and chatted with him several times. Nice guy. And, glad to see he is still going on. I’ve even seen Tundra stuff for sale at Hobby Lobby.

    1. Love Tundra. Got introduced to the strip when we visited Alaska. Noticed the “Geimm” influence at once.

One of my favorite Tundras was an obituary for a guy, showing the last picture he took with his cell phone. A selfie, showing him standing right next to a pair of adorable bear cubs. It also showed Mama, rearing up behind him, and she was not amused.

No need to mention cause of death, we all know.
