Because some people, including my husband, kept giving me election updates.
So, I’m going to bed now. The post tomorrow will be late.
But there will be a post, because it’s important. There is still a plate of awful in front of us right now. There will be an economic crash. Now we just have hope of crawling back out and reaching for the stars.
And we will.
The speech from Independence Day is in my mind tonight:
We will not go down into that night, we will not surrender without a fight. Today we declare our independence day.
G-d bless you, you lunatics. Go to bed now. My cats are leading me that way, and I’m going.
I had to wait until Trump gave his Victory Speech!
Oh, I’m not going to wait for Harris to acknowledge her defeat. [Crazy Grin]
Good Night Everybody!

Since it’s daytime where I live I am going to be amusing myself reading what local media sites are writing. They kept talking how Harris was ahead and doing well until only a couple of days ago, only then we started to get stories how it might not be quite that easy for her after all, and it was going to be a tight race.

The only place Que Mala was “doing well” was in what laughably passes for her mind.
But knowing the potential for fraud, I went to bed last night fearing the worst; I was almost afraid to look at the news when I got up. Now I think tonight might be a 2-drink celebration…and the lamentations of the leftist talking heads are wonderful to behold; Schadenfreude could easily become addictive.😉

Likely. I wonder what she will do now. She can certainly get well paying job giving speeches or working in something like, was it called “The View”? Bunch of women talking nonsense? But can she handle that likely looking substance abuse issue well enough to handle even that now?
Oh well, maybe. She has seemed like somebody who was fast losing it because she had been promoted past her abilities and was at least smart enough to know it, on some level, and was losing her control due to stress. Being worshiped on some television talk show by her fans, word salads and all, might be exactly where she is going to feel comfortable.

Anyone else remember the story about someone asking Ben Franklin if the sun carved on that chair was rising or setting?
Tonight, even more than earlier today, it seems as if it surely must be rising after all… even after so much “all of it” for so many of us lately.

It’s 1:43am Pacific, so 4:43am Eastern, and I haven’t seen any suspicious jumps in the vote totals in the swing states reported on any of the election tracker sites.
The various lefty accounts I follow on X seem resigned to the loss. The reaction of my lefty/progressive friends here in Seattle is extremely muted.
I think this one really was Too Big To Rig.
And I am so incredibly relieved. I was girding myself to accept four years of grinding awfulness, just like in 2016, and just like then we were all reprieved.
It’s too early to tell what they’re going to do, but I’m hoping that the left will double down and push harder and doom themselves to electoral irrelevance for a decade. As my handle suggests, I’m a fan of Strauss & Howe generational theory. Hopefully, hopefully, this pushes us past the Crisis and through the Fourth Turning and into the era of social calm that’s supposed to follow. And if that’s so, then it will be a small-c conservative, liberty-minded social calm instead of the leftist oppressive social calm that I’ve been fearing for the last twenty years.

I was woken up around 03:30 by sis with the news that DJT was ahead, and looked to be winning. I went back to bed saying that four years ago it had looked like DJ was going to win, but then the mystery votes showed up. I refused to believe it until the last state was declared.
I woke at 05:45 to my local news stations says that DJT had been declared the winner by the AP and was the President Elect.

I’ve been breaking down the election counts. It was shocking in its way. Margins were much smaller than Biden had. The Camel underperformed across the board. It looks as though the dems insistence on keeping third party candidates on the ballot did not work out for them since e.g., she only took 51% of NJ concentrated in the Democrat machine cities and the rich wine mom towns. In NY, she only blew out in Manhattan and Brooklyn, again the machine and rich hipsters. The ethnic vote went for Trump and Hispanics look an awful lot like the old ethnics than the new ethnics that they’re supposed to be supplanting. Evil will oft doth evil mar and all that.

You mean their failure to remove third party candidates, yes? They worked hard to try kicking Stein off. They did keep RFKJ on many of them – but they should have known better when he started campaigning in those States for Trump. Not that I’m convinced having him gone would have helped Harris – those who still stubbornly voted for him were still reliable Leftists, but couldn’t stomach the heavy baggage that was the Harris-Biden administration.

The Dems were going both ways, trying to keep RFK on in some spots, while kicking Stein off elsewhere. One bit of speculation with respect to RFK was that the bogus preprinted ballots were ready to be delivered, and they didn’t want to have to reprint. Take that bit with a fair amount of salt…
IMHO, they thought RFK would split the R voters (yeah, riiight), while Stein could split the D voters.

Oregon rejected rank choice, a commission to give pay raises to TPTB, and a toxic tax on gross sales. On the last, every county in Oregon said hell no, even Portlandia. It would have clobbered a lot of businesses, not to mention a sales tax by another name.

First, we need to absolutely need purge the m’fing backstabbing RINOs at all levels. Name them and shame them. Support good alternatives if possible.
The Soros DAs and such need to be removed. Soros and “dark money” funders need more than the “usual” attention.
Weaken MSM by limiting their “Big Pharma” money. Build up more independent fact sources or figure out how fund them without billionaire patrons.
Legally destroy the “illegal alien” importers and funders. Remove all benefits from aliens including “free” education and non-emergency healthcare. Imprision or hang the funders and supporters as traitors.
Removing 20 million aliens should free up the housing markets and increase employment opportunities. Vegans with DEI degrees can pick veggies to earn their keep.
And fix the election processes that need fixed so somebody can actually trust them.
Let Elon fix Boeing and MIC.
Deport any idiot that “promised” to leave the country if Trump got elected. Make them pay the exit tax and ban them forever. And give the one dude his car and a cliff, sell PFV tickets and use the proceeds to fund cat shelters or something constructive.
And drop the ringleaders of “J6″ and Covid/”Vax” and Climate Change near some hungry polar bears.
