Or I can’t plot it. The election, I mean. I’m terrified because it’s going to hurt very badly.
Yesterday a friend of mine told me, in absolute seriousness that I keep telling G-d he needs a Writer’s Group. (Yes, that means I’m going to end up you know where, but that’s not the point right now.) Anyway, he thinks that’s why G-d took Terry Pratchett early, so he helps Him with turning the corner on this installment of America! the serial.
He says you can tell because two days before the election, everything went squirrely. We have our very own Lord Winder — Biden, even if he’s fond of ice-cream, not cake — and he was deposed by Lord Snapcase — Kamala, laugh and everything.
All I can tell you is that if he’s right, we have a chance in a million of winning this, which in Pratchett lands would make it guaranteed….
…. anyway, all this to say this is an open thread if y’all want to discuss it.
As for me, I’m trying NOT to drink. Which means I’m going to try to finish a (short) novel tonight and tomorrow.
Pray for me, because I’ll probably have a heart attack either way.
Anyway, the novel is another Rhodes, I already have 10k words. I’m going to post it in public on all my substacks, and then remove it to publish G-d willing. If I don’t have a heart attack….
If you guys are also wanting some distraction, you can read here.
Sara, she has 6 fingers on the draft cover… Also, don’t joke about having a heart attack, please. I lost my dad this summer and then had a heart attack and ended up in the hospital for a week; I am less than a year younger than you, and never had any heart issues before. I am thinking as a result of the stupid shot, and having covid. Now ejection fraction is back to normal but I have 3 stents after 3 angioplasties. Please take care of yourself and your family!

The Vatican’s mascot for the big expo in Japan this year.
For folks who don’t know, EVERYTHING in Japan has a mascot. One-time festivals have mascots. One outlet grocery stores have a mascot.
So, the Vatican contracted with an Italian artist who is co-founder of one of the rising Japanese merch companies, the folks who do those annoying little mermaid-unicorn-collect-them-all blind boxes.
Some folks lost their freaking MINDS, because it’s “childish.” Note that it’s the mascot for the area where there’s going to be multiple priceless works of art on display, but it’s just so horrifying that the UNIVERSAL CHURCH might include harmless aspects of Japanese culture, we need to have a meltdown.
Technically, Luce the official mascot is a mascot, and is an it; since it’s named Light and in Italian that’s female, everybody says “she,” and it’s a pilgrim. Mud on the boots, rain coat, a pilgrim’s cross, and a pilgrim’s walking stick.
Obviously, I like Luce. And tend to default to ‘her’ because of the name and fan art.

May your heart be strong, sister Sarah. May you be strong enough to bear up under what burdens may come, be they joys or sorrows. We are here for you.
Together, all of us will meet tomorrow as Americans should. Heads high, shoulders back, ready to get to work again. We are not weak cattle-like men. We have the strength of giants within us.
Recall our history. Before the United States was even a thing, men dreamed of it. A land of prosperity, of liberty, of no kings, no nobles, only men and what men could do. We built an empire that did not conquer, only enticed those with the will and the capacity to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.
Who can say what the future will hold?
A world where space, like the dream of America, entices the young and the dreamers to try their luck and with grit and determination make their own fortune? For the work of today is the foundation of tomorrow.
Let us learn well the lessons of today. Let us impart what we know unto the next generation. A free mind cannot be broken. Punished, beaten, yes. But not broken. We will keep on keepin’ on. Our example will teach the future.
We are Americans. We are free. But freedom requires a lot of responsibility, as it is the other side of the coin. That, I believe, is a very good thing.

Remember, Trump was way in the lead at midnight on November 3 2020. Then they ‘stopped the count’ and in 4 hours he was a million ‘votes’ behind. How the situation changed so radically while the count was ‘stopped’ has never been explained, or even addressed. Nor has how Pennsylvania ‘counted’ almost 2.6 million fraud-by-mail ballots, when only 1.8 million were ever sent out. 766,000 ‘votes’ just appeared from nowhere and we’re not allowed to question it.
I expect another ‘Fuckery is afoot’ post from the International Lord Of Hate by Friday.

So far, Trump is winning the popular vote by almost 5 million, a much bigger margin than he had at this point in 2020. The Democrats will need about 6x more fraud to steal this one.
Unfortunately, they’ve got those 20 million illegal aliens, and Democrat operatives are collecting their bogus ‘votes’ right now.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, his mercy endures forever.
Let Israel say: his mercy endures forever.
Let the house of Aaron say, his mercy endures forever.
Let those who fear the LORD say, his mercy endures forever.
In danger I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free.
The LORD is with me; I am not afraid; what can mortals do against me?
The LORD is with me as my helper; I shall look in triumph on my foes.
Better to take refuge in the LORD than to put one’s trust in mortals.
Better to take refuge in the LORD than to put one’s trust in princes.
All the nations surrounded me; in the LORD’s name I cut them off.
They surrounded me on every side; in the LORD’s name I cut them off.
They surrounded me like bees; they burned up like fire among thorns; in the LORD’s name I cut them off.
I was hard pressed and falling, but the LORD came to my help.
The LORD, my strength and might, has become my savior.
The joyful shout of deliverance is heard in the tents of the righteous:
“The LORD’s right hand works valiantly; the LORD’s right hand is raised; the LORD’s right hand works valiantly.”
I shall not die but live and declare the deeds of the LORD.
The LORD chastised me harshly, but did not hand me over to death.
Open the gates of righteousness; I will enter and thank the LORD.
This is the LORD’s own gate, through it the righteous enter.
I thank you for you answered me; you have been my savior.
The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
By the LORD has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes.
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice in it and be glad.
LORD, grant salvation! LORD, grant good fortune!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD.
We bless you from the house of the LORD.
The LORD is God and has enlightened us.
Join in procession with leafy branches up to the horns of the altar.
You are my God, I give you thanks; my God, I offer you praise.

The heavily left counties did that in, along with any chances for a R OR-SoS. OTOH, the measure votes have been wonderful, with 118 crashing and burning in every county, and rank-choice (and that choice is really rank) fraud going down.
Very locally, we got the sheriff I think we need, and I can live with the county commissioner who got voted in. The Commish board is a bit more liberal than the county should go for, but the GOPe hasn’t finished dwindling here. It’s heading that way, but it’ll take time.

Same here. Don’t remember much about said relatives in school either. We of coarse grew up with “knowing” between the family private historical graveyard. Plus paternal grandmother and great uncles repeating their grandfather’s (great-great) tales of the Oregon Trail voyage from the view of one of the 30+ children (between the 3 brothers), and everything after. It comes as a surprise that Oregon residents don’t know. Pretty much most the recent books are written, and published, by extended family historians.

For those with ears to hear:
AP, ABC, and even Decision Desk do not determine who gets sworn in, at any level.
As long as election “officials” are allowed to continue “finding” and counting votes until they have the results they want, the cheat is still ongoing.
It’s already cost us at least one Senate seat, in AZ, and may yet reverse Pennsylvania. And installing a Senate with a one or two vote majority at the “mercy” of RINOs is an even better outcome for the enemy. Remember that personnel and policy are both determined by it; see Trump’s first term.
