I won’t inflict Caturday on you

UPDATE: I have updated the subscriber page with chapter 2 of To The Dragons.

Though the temptation is massive.

Our Free Range Oyster is still dealing with family issues.  I’ll have a chapter of To The Dragons in the subscriber area later, as well as another chapter of Rogue Magic.  (The To The Dragons one is written.)

It’s cold, it’s dark, it’s dreary and I have a cat (ah! snuck Caturday on you) and a husband wishing to snuggle, and what’s more, my internet connection is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW, which is why I didn’t put up chapter last night.  I don’t know why, but I’m going to reset to before the last critical update and see.  To be fair, I’m not sure it’s the internet.  Everything seems to have slowed to a crawl.

Though to be fair, at least my computer isn’t smoking, so it can’t be that bad.

Until they achieve this on a mass scale, we’ll have to use the internet (my love.)

But you think at least they do this brain-to-typing, so I could get these novels out of my head?

Anyway, it’s taking forever to type each sentence, so I’ll be back in a couple of hours after I do a restore on this thing.

And meanwhile, I was going to inflict cat pictures on you, but the doggyness of the internet won’t let me upload them.  Even in small version.

I’m going back to bed and restarting the day in a couple of hours, okay?

Good grief woman! Yes, of course.

    1. I read that just now, and frankly, it sounds like they’re fooling themselves by saying it “Worked”. Mainly because their medium was an e-mailed message, and the receiver didn’t really get the message, per se. It was like “reading” the blinkenlight on your router.

We’ll know it’s a viable technology when they start using it for porn.

      1. Of course, there was the joke about the fortune-tellers convention that wasn’t advertised because the *real* fortune-tellers would know about it. [Wink]

Oh, one fantasy novel had “rules of warfare” (called Rules of the Game) where if a person was planning an attack on another characters, they had to give some warning of the attack before launching the attack. These warnings could be simple things that if you weren’t looking for signs of an attack, you might miss them. However, if you were planning an attack on a Seer, it was held that just planning the attack was warning enough. After all, a True Seer would know you were planning an attack on him. [Grin]

          That and:

“A Seminar on Time Travel will be held two weeks ago….”

  2. For shame! Putting Dan and cattus despicableus before your loyal, faithful, and patient readers. (shaddup, I know there are at least a couple of you out there)
That pre beta brain to fingers to keyboard to text interface was always a kludge. The prior version utilizing a pointy stick instead of keyboard was ever so much more reliable.
Seriously, it’s Saturday girl! Climb back in bed and have a snuggle with your pets, human and otherwise. Once you decide to rise and shine do take time for a cuppa, maybe even two, before taking on the ‘puter beast. I’ve already had to reboot my own persona evil minion once already this morning. In return for grudgingly acknowledging that it did in fact have a boot drive and working operating system I broke down and bought her a new 3Tb hard drive as the 1Tb was getting way too full.

    1. If it’s drinking along with the smoking that’s not too bad. Flames shooting out of it, heavy smoke and a *bang* somewhere in the process is the kind you should be concerned about. This one above is just going on a bender.

  3. Fine. Canoodle and shock the cats, why don’t you. We’ll just have to find a way to entertain ourselves…

Just remember, when you make your way through the smoldering wreckage, stepping over weeping SJWs covered in fish, that this is all your fault.

  4. Today was a chair for the hubby and a frame for the bed so that he could get out without help. Then physical therapy lady who seemed to be judging me. I finally told her the two truths. I was on cytoxan for almost two years and if stuff isn’t where I can see it then it isn’t there. — Makes for a lot of clutter. Anyway she might not like me, but she really likes the hubby and did a good job. My feelings don’t matter in this instance. But I am tired.

    1. Don’t overwork yourself, Cyn, as much as you can avoid doing so. I know it’s hard supporting someone in that position, and for you, it’s 10 times harder. Hope he gets some improvement.

      1. Thanks– I had to take a nap today. I went to get something he requested and then it didn’t work. *sigh. Anyway, I am relaxing in front of Netflix and cross-stitching. Salonpas is great for my back. BTW the chair and the frame has made him able to get up. Less lifting for me.

I have found that even persons who are informed on the side effect of medications do not really understand. The difference between theoretical and experiential can be profound.

You cross stitch? One more reason to like you… What kind of designs do you do?

(Although I won’t be able to work on it for awhile). Yea, the hubby saw me take chemo and some of the symptoms are the same and many are different. I am worried today.

            1. I have “menopause eyes” — apparently not unusual in women with severe astigmatism. I.e. prescription changes every two months. This makes my writing hard enough. So embroidery and crochet are… waiting. Maybe in a year or two. But I too used to do counted cross stitch.
