This Author is Sick

And not in a good way.  In case you wondered at no post yesterday, AFGM is LARGELY done, pending line by line, but yesterday I woke up feeling like recycled yuck and today is about the same.  I’ve been trying to write a post but I can’t.

It seems to be “whatever’s going around” characterized MOSTLY by overwhelming exhaustion.   So…  I’ll hopefully be back tomorrow.  Today I’m going to sleep.

  1. What?! No post?! Don’t you know that we OWN you?! That you are a public utility?! I demand you come back here and give my empty life meaning!

    Please?

Seriously, tea, chicken soup, lots of bad TV…get better and know our prayers and thoughts are with you.

  2. “[W]hatever’s going around”? Oooohh, I’ve HAD that – several times!! It’s TERRIBLE! Get plenty of rest and spouse and kids to wait upon you, serving tea to your bedside and ceding control of the TV remote.

More seriously, take zinc supplements. After an upper respiratory assault a few years back my sense of taste disappeared. At lunch a co-worker, on hearing me comment on the lack of flavour, advised me she’d had a similar affliction some years back (a waitress who tosses out a half dozen fresh tomatoes as flavorless earns no love from restaurant management) and found out that fighting her cold had left her with zinc depletion, which deactivates the taste buds.

    1. Unfortunately the therapeutic dose of chocolate is also the LD-10. Caution is advised when self-medicating, as always.

  3. I just got over that stuff – five days of misery; hacking, coughing, nose running like a hosepipe, congestion, etc. That all started 24 hours after ending two weeks of massive antibiotics for an infection in my knee that put me in hospital for a week… not a pleasant time, at all at all.

    I wish you well!

  4. I think I got that Whatever Is Going Around. Still have the dregs of the nose issues. *sigh* Depending on where you live, Vitamin D may help! (I skimped on my D and, as usual, got sick.)

Hope you feel better sooner than I did.
