Ending the con exhausted because I’m apparently allergic to something in the hotel, and last night was the first night I slept since we got here. I spent the other nights coughing. Yesterday I finally got cough syrup, and slept. So I’m more than a little wrecked, and trying to rest before we head back so I don’t end up getting ill.
How out of it was I? Well I typed 42 instead of 47 on the title of the post last night and didn’t notice until midday today. Hey, the numbers look alike, right?
The promo post will PROBABLY be Tuesday. There’s a chance of being able to do it tomorrow, but it’s unlikely. OTOH it gives you more time to send me your books to promote, right?
This blog (and this writer) will be back on its regular schedule till Tuesday.
Should I warn you when I’ll be out of pocket, so you can lay in popcorn for whatever will happen in the international sphere?
Hey, go on a week-long vacation so the CCP can fall in China, would ya?

I mean, my best (still not reliable) forecast is other things first, but, LOL, Idunno.

When is the next weekend conference you and Dan are going to? I want to be forewarned as to when Cuba is falling. And N. Korea. Just saying. CCP might take a week. But Cuba and N. Korea will only take the weekend.
Not that it’ll matter. We’ll still be asleep. Because that is how it works on the West Coast. Especially Saturday or Sunday AM’s.

Kim seems to like Trump, based on what we saw during Trump’s first term. And he hasn’t been particularly obnoxious lately, afaik. So North Korea is probably not getting hit anytime soon..
On the other hand, a sudden announcement of an upcoming visit by Trump to meet with Kim wouldn’t be out of place!

We’re home. Sorry you had allergies; I had two of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in months.
OTOH, I drove us home, got back in time to just head straight for church, went home, had lunch, then drove another 48 miles to the assistant manager’s wedding reception. So, about 200 miles driving. I intend to be a zuccini for the rest of the evening.

My beloved spouse is coughing and announced he needs to start drinking orange juice. So it may not be allergies.

I’m dealing with something similar right now (hopefully getting over it), and my sister mentioned early last week that she had something (she wondered if it was COVID again, though she didn’t bother testing afaik). So some bug is likely making the rounds.

No. Staying away from the dealer’s room yesterday made me much better, so I think the soaps (scented) were the problem. Coughing is a manifestation of asthma with me. BUT I hope not to catch anything, which is why I’m imitating the vegetable kingdom.

Weirdly, both numbers are geeky; 42 is “the answer to life, the universe, and everything” and 47 is a Star Trek reoccurring number…and of course is when Quark, Rom, Nog, and [REDACTED] traveled back in time to visit Earth, on accident. At Roswell.

Occasionally I hear that a lot of women’s clothing does not have enough pockets. Some shouldn’t, of course – a nice clutch just big enough for a Walther PPK and a pack of tissues is right for evening gowns or club wear.

I have never been comfortable with a method of carry that does not attach the firearm to the body. It is too easy to put it down for a moment to free up a hand and lose control of it. YMMV.
