  1. Stalin: “Why do those people fear that two-bit German but not me”?

Answer: “The people who fear that two-bit German love you”.

  2. Valid from underneath the related TFR airspace closure as well as today’s fighter CAP practice for the actual game in question:

      1. Me too. Still am to a degree. Encyclopedia too.

strange doings in China, Reports of gun fire in Peking and fighters in the air. No confirmation. None of the trustworthy sources can agree. Don’t believe what you read, but don’t ignore it either. Things are very odd right now.

          1. Typical. The press is mostly just propaganda for CCP.

The original composition of the Central Military Committee from the 20th Party Congress in 2022 included seven members:

            • Chairman: Xi Jinping
            • Vice Chairmen: Zhang Youxia, He Weidong (later replaced)
            • Members: Li Shangfu, Liu Zhenli, Miao Hua, Zhang Shengmin

Multiple high-profile figures have been removed or placed under investigation for “serious violations of discipline and law” (code for corruption or disloyalty), including:

            • Li Shangfu (former Defense Minister, removed 2024)
            • Miao Hua
            • He Weidong (vice chairman, expelled/removed around October 2025). He committed suicide recently, which is weird since they usually don’t do that — they belong to the party and all that jazz.  He was supposed to be Xi’s ally.
            • Liu Zhenli (CMC member and Joint Staff Department chief)
            • Zhang Youxia (senior vice chairman, placed under investigation in January 2026). He was the only one who had ever been under fire having fought in the Vietnam disaster.

This has reduced the active CMC to effectively two members who remain in office:

            • Xi Jinping (Chairman, born 1953, still in full control as paramount leader).
            • Zhang Shengmin (Vice Chairman, also Secretary of the CMC Discipline Inspection Commission; a career political commissar from the Rocket Force background, promoted/retained amid the purges, including elevation in late 2025 after He Weidong’s fall).

      2. Encyclopedia and dictionary reader. The only time I listened to one song over and over was when I was trying to learn parts of a difficult piece for one of my choirs, or a piano recital.

  3. Sadly, a lot of this seems to be hype.

The additional take away I would have is ‘expect more trolls, more blackpills’.

US spending on the UN is probably a lot of fraud, and a slush fund to keep a bunch of awful regimes in power. As those regimes fail, some of them may understand that US politics is responsible, and in play.

I think there are not the financial institutions and courts to handle bankruptcy by the UN.

      1. My response is twofold: “And?” “Please!”

And: Who cares if the UN goes bankrupt? Not the US citizens who have a clue. The rest we’ll use the clue bat on (meteorically, honest, maybe, if they are lucky).

Please: Turn the UN building into low-rent housing!!!

    1. Ditto for us folks directly to the south of you.

Not that I needed any official word to GTFO the streets, mind you. Other than a quick early morning run for some groceries (did some shopping last night before the snow, but had to top off the weekly grocery list) my butt is staying in the house.

    2. Really, do you want people with that little experience driving on snow to drive on snow? Especially when it’s windy. And if they crash, they would have to keep warm to survive.

  5. The link between coffee and a longer lifespan is real, but it’s a little misleading:

The fact that I get my morning coffee means that those around me have a greater life expectancy.

    1. That was my thought as well, and I’m not even that big a coffee drinker any more.

(I’ve cut waaay down on caffeine the past few years, for medical reasons.)

  6. Iran appears to have a surge of Sudden Building Boom Syndrome in progress. Government buildings, as well as an apartment complex that residents claim did NOT smell of gas just before it exploded, contrary to what the authorities said.

    1. Fake news!

There is no chaos or disorder in outlying regions like Peking, Tehran, Mumbai, and London.

The chaos and disorder that is not there, was not caused by terrible acts of Lese Majeste against Donald Trump, committed by nefarious actors at Davos.

The Celestial Order is still harmonious.

Nefarious actors at Davos do not need to be put to death in order to restore the harmony, which we never lost in the first place.
