Holding Pattern with sales

I’m working on something for you guys. But it will probably tomorrow before I can put it up, because today is a day of doctor’s appointments.

As a teaser it starts with “Time travelers shouldn’t get married.”

Oh, and don’t panic. It’s just the allergist for, well, allergy testing. They’ll come back saying I’m allergic to stress and Portugal, but it must be done anyway.

In the meantime, I want to point out that the based book sale is ON and I’m in it.

With A Few Good Men. Okay, yes, gay protagonists (though if you decide they’re just good friends it works too. I know because several of my readers do that) but also the USAIAN religion, and I don’t know anything more based than that.

And if you wish to go directly (but you should check out the sale. There’s a lot of people familiar to you in it.) it’s here: A Few Good Men.

As always remember you can order it delivered on Christmas morning, and no one will know you got it on sale. :D And if you haven’t read any of the Darkship Thieves, you don’t need to. It’s a stand alone. Yes, it fits in the series, but it’s a stand alone.

Also, FYI, Draw One In The Dark is still on sale. It’s the first of my Shifter series, and set in an analog of what used to be my favorite diner in Denver, Pete’s Kitchen.

Anyway, in case you need your slice of red meat which I’m not providing due to doctor things and other stuff…. Go here. No seriously. GO HERE. Oh, yeah, warning, language, but this woman fulfills my repeated warning that good enough profanity is POETRY and just as difficult. If you’re on X you might want to give her a follow.

      1. I wasn’t expecting my reposts of her on X and sharing her many nuclear strikes in a mutual haunt of ours to make one of your posts but I’m glad I helped bring her to your attention! Same for a certain Mr. Bock who sometimes beats me to her posts.

  1. I’ve got a story on sale there too. I’m supposed to promote the sale on social media…, but I don’t exactly do social media–not ex-twitter, no farcebook, no reddit, no…. Well, I do have a blog, and I comment here. Does that count? :)

Not adhering to the 24-hour rule is getting the usual suspects a “spanking” on the usual social media.

UPDATE: 4:13 p.m. Eastern: Gov. Patrick Morrisey (R-W.Va.) posted on X that there are conflicting reports on the condition of the National Guardsmen.

        1. One wonders if Jen bothers to consider the ramifications of her blathering. Comments like that seem designed to get nuclear-grade backlash. (Or lower tech results. Eyes lamp posts.)

          1. I think Jen considered exactly what she wants to be the response: something that can be spun as being “nuclear grade backlash”, but that won’t be enough to touch her. She needed to read my comment over at Cat Rotators earlier this month about the unwisdom of trying to use street gangs as precision weapons.

Sadly, this is about where I predicted we would end up: because we didn’t intervene early, we’re going to face far more damage than we would have otherwise, because our enemies domestic were never going to stop on their own.

        2. The technical term for what those congresscritters did is ‘incitement to mutiny’. Which is a serious crime.

But, as we all know, to a Democrat making criminals face consequences is far more ‘o f f e n s i v e’ than the crimes they committed. Even when the crimes in question are murder, rape, kidnapping, slavery and pedo perversions, it’s the police and prosecutors to blame, not the poor, victimized criminals.
          ———————————
When police arrest violent criminals to protect innocent people, they are condemned as Jackbooted Fascist Stormtroopers.

When police arrest innocent people at the behest of corrupt politicians, they are hailed as National Heroes.

      1. Completely thermal noise at below room temperature spontaneous isolated madman.

(I’m not sure if I am being sarcastic, or merely speculating (1). I don’t know, I think my blood sugar is low and I am trying to bias in the optimal direction. Which I do not know.)

Anyway, some good and some bad with how I have spent the day’s time and energy. Good the semiproductive, unsure the fanfic reading and the OCD sorting of some ideas from wiki trawls, and the bad the essays and stuff.

I have some new opinions and thoughts on the matters surrounding, but are perhaps a little too disorganized to be worth it.

However, if modern Democrats were to be back in 1963, and to somehow have their modern confidence that they would not be torn to bits by an angry crowd, they would be pushing this “Hey Fascist, Catch” and “we celebrate when Nazis are shot” shit about the JFK murder.

From their perspective, this probably all makes sense.

It feels like we will continue to have some problems for a while, and that they will not be able to put enough energy into things for the concerning scenario.

        (1) speculating that this is nothing too unusual (2), to clarify

        (2) as in not a wolf that can be directly tied to a authoritative Democrat giving an explicit order, or funding with an implicit understanding

    1. “Kelly, you loathsome, hypocritical abomination, your nauseating, crocodile-tear-soaked lamentations over the brutal slaughter of those two noble West Virginia National Guard members near the White House are a vile, festering insult to every shred of decency left in this beleaguered nation. You, you odious, sanctimonious swine, with your pompous, self-righteous prattle and that execrable, incendiary video urging our troops to defy what you so arrogantly labeled “illegal orders,” have wielded your venomous tongue like a deranged surgeon brandishing a rusted, blood-encrusted chainsaw, carving a path of chaos that has culminated in this grotesque, sanguinary catastrophe.

The crimson deluge soaking the streets of our capital is a direct, unescapable testament to your despicable rhetoric, you contemptible cunt of the highest order. Your faux outrage, you sniveling, seditious charlatan, is a rancid, theatrical vomitorium of deceit, a putrid performance of feigned grief that sickens the soul of every patriot who dares to witness it.

You dare to posture as a grieving sentinel of virtue, shedding crocodile tears for the shattered families of those fallen heroes, while the reverberating echoes of your reckless, venom-dripping rhetoric…encouraging mutiny against duly constituted authority…still howl through the shattered remnants of our national conscience?

Shut your vile, forked tongue, you miserable, misbegotten miscreant, and choke on the bile of your own hypocritical blather! The blood of those valiant guardsmen, spilled in the shadow of our nation’s seat of power, is a scarlet brand seared into your lily-white hands, a permanent mark of your execrable, execrably execrable machinations.

You, you wretched, treasonous reprobate, called for this mayhem with the precision of a malevolent maestro conducting a symphony of destruction, and now you have the unmitigated gall to stand before us, draped in the tattered rags of your faux patriotism, bleating platitudes of sympathy?

Your sanctimonious drivel is an affront to the very air we breathe, a noxious miasma of mendacity that poisons the spirit of every American who has lost faith in your duplicitous leadership.

The vitriolic venom you spewed…urging our military to turn against the chain of command…has metastasized into this abhorrent atrocity, and the American people, with eyes wide open to your perfidy, will not suffer your insufferable posturing in silence. You are now eternally damned as the architect of this abominable bloodbath.

The ghosts of those fallen heroes will haunt your every step, their spectral voices crying out for justice against the man whose words lit the fuse of their demise. Crawl back into the cesspool of your own making, you detestable dreg of democracy, and let the weight of your guilt crush you into the oblivion you so richly deserve.

The blood is on your hands, you vile villain, and no amount of sanctimonious sophistry can wash away the stain of your ignominious infamy. Burn in the fires of your own iniquity, you pompous fuck, for your legacy is now forever etched in the annals of infamy as the harbinger of this heinous horror.

    2. She describes herself as a sadist. I can readily believe it. My own emotional equilibrium requires that I do not drink too deeply of her well. She brings most excellent receipts, and I may occasionally visit her for them, but even if I do, I will pare it down to the facts, and leave the highly skilled invective behind.

  3. Bbbut … vomitorium doesn’t mean that! It’s an architectural term for a route of rapid, mass egress. I even have (somewhere) an expensive paperback “textbook” on stadium design that uses the term.

  4. OK, this is sort of out of the blue, and kinda off-topic

(other than it relates to a book I am listening to and want a broader impression if it is available…)

Asking the Horde mind; of those of you who have heard of the author:

    William I. Hitchcock

What is your impression? I don’t think I’m imagining things, but…

  5. Off Topic.

I got up this morning and discovered that I have over 900 emails in my Junk Mail folder.

It appears that somebody “released” all of the missing emails (from here & elsewhere) that I was missing.

I spent the morning getting those emails out of my Junk Mail folder (didn’t want to leave them there).

    Happy Thanksgiving! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
