    1. I think there was (is?) a RenFaire act that used that… in their name(?). As I recall… it was not exactly “shock” ‘humor’ wasn’t too far off – it failed to be funny as FUNNY. It seemed just… puerile.

Then did the swords beat upon shields, to do the warriors honor–
I’m sorry. Insufficient caffeine. Fill tot he marked line and carry on.

        1. South Korean coffee packets. They come pre-mixed with creamer, and they work really well with cold water. You get like a zillion in a box.

Yes, yes, I spend way too much time at the Korean grocery stores.

          1. I’ll have to take a look at that.

Vietnamese coffee is really good too, but I can do the sugar in the sweetened condensed milk it calls for :/.

Though I wonder if I could just use sucralose drops in heavy cream instead?

            1. Yes. It will be good, but the flavor won’t be quite the same. There is a “cooked milk” taste to the sweetened condensed stuff.
Vietnamese markets are usually a good place to get New Orleans French Market coffee at a good price.

          2. I wish to state that I had a roomie in college that was Army ROTC freshman and Sophomore years that went on various things where they got MRE’s. He wasn’t a coffee drinker so he’d bring me back the coffee packets. That stuff was pretty damn good, would dissolve easily in room temperature water and had enhanced caffeine. 1. Medaglia D’Oro Instant Espresso Coffee is part of our bug-out bag– you can tap it into a water bottle and make alright coffee, and it turns either the “chocolate milk” mochas or just plain weak coffee into something with backbone.

(I’m surely not the only one who has gone for a mocha when traveling and gotten something that cannot be told from cocoa, right?)

        2. Costco came up with a cold-brewed mocha freeze for the food court. I didn’t care for the reintroduction of the Chicken Caesar salad (Romain lettuce and partial dentures do not play well together), but the CBMF was worth it.

      1. “…to do the warriors honor, by the shore of the wine-dark sea.”
My beloved said he’s honored. (After he finished chuckling.)

  1. …and so it came to pass that Godzilla, the world’s mightiest Kaiju, spent the next 300 years curled up at the bottom of the ocean trying to get that image out of his head… :-D

      1. You “misgendered” Godzilla.

      2. Given that Godzilla has a son, Godzuki, he obviously has a Bridezilla somewhere.

Maybe he married that Disney princess. Perhaps her name is Princess Priszilla. Or Lizarda. Or Radioactiva.

    1. Yes, yes, but let’s address the real issue here: did he lose his slipper at the ball, and if so, how many other kaiju tried it on until they realized who was the one it fit?

    1. Thought about doubling your bid to $0.04. But realized I might win and then I’d have to clean it. Nope. Wait! Does the winning bid also get the contents? Still Nope.

  2. Hmm. To meme or not to meme? Is that the question? That is:

Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer the turds and claptrap of outrageous Wokesters,
    Or by deriding offend them?

    Oh (expletive deleted) yes!

      1. When I clicked on the little picture icon just now the meme came up.
However, before that, I was able to do this work-around:
Click on the little picture to get the error message.
Copy the partial link in that message and add the prefix https://www.powerlineblog.com/
It’s the flip chart guy with “by not telling us whose cocaine it is, you’re telling us…”

“Brought my own sir” Captain Beck replied.
“You are not going to be in the way of main guns and targets when they are firing, Captain, Not going to happen” Captain Suzuki stated.
“Heaven forbid Captain, nor would I want to be, but there is more than one way to a target as well as skinning cats, sir” Captain Beck replied.
“Never liked that term, why in the hell would you want to skin a cat? Convince me, captain without the cats” Captain Suzuki ordered, he rather liked cats.
