I have most of a post written, but I keep falling asleep, and I have chapters to do for Witch’s Daughter, but I need a nap.
For explanation: I’m sleeping in the family room, because Dan is sleeping on the recliner, so he can be comfortable after surgery. The problem is I can’t be comfortable. I also can’t be away, because he’s still unbalanced, and I’m afraid he’ll get up, fall, and I won’t hear him. But I’m one of those people who sleeps on her bed, in one position. I don’t even like hotel beds, with rare exceptions.
So– I can’t.
Post tomorrow. I’m going to nap and do chapters for the serialization. And maybe putter around with one of the almost done novels after.
Sorry.

Dear Lady, what Jason said; and before “write first”, we all are happier when your family comes first.
(besides, in the long term, more things written to enjoy that way)

Sleep. Your readers and the follies of the world will still be here. Unless the Second Coming of [$DEITY$] happens, at which point we’re all going to have a lot more to talk about. Or not.

Why be sorry for needing to rest?
Even Lady Dragons who are Beautiful But Evil Space Princesses need to rest.

“Oh, all right. I suppose we can manage….somehow.”
Part of me feels I should boob breastily down the stairs and out of the scene after that, but I’m just not equipped for it.

No apology needed. Dan comes first. Period. I empathize with the “can’t sleep” as I also have one position in my own bed that works for me. I can sleep other places, but not well and not for long. Take care of yourself. We’ll still be here when this but it past. I have knitting to keep me happy for now 😉 Cura ut valeas, Lori Kissell

I too do not do well unless in my own bed with my own pillow. To the point where in hotels we book, either king (because at home we have a king, but hotels that is iffy), or two beds, because I toss and turn, flip pillows, one leg out, flip covers off, flip sheet off, put sheet and blanket back on, and repeat, to the point the dog goes and sleeps with dad (none of this counts a trip or two to the bathroom, stupid bladder). The fact that hubby at 6’2″ sleeps diagonally in any bed not a king, also does not help. I do this at home too, on bad nights, but at hotels every night is a bad night. (Don’t snore, sleep apnea mouth piece prevents that.) I can sleep other places, if I am exhausted (which after a few bad nights of hotel does happen) but not for long. The RV queen in the trailer was marginally better than a hotel, mostly because had my own pillows.

Well, Bill may have been thinking a bit more extreme – “Sleep perchance to dream.”
But yes you need your rest and by doing so will be more able to watch after Dan as well as being productive in other ways. Take the advice of cats everywhere: Nap.
