It never rains but it pours. I woke up at five am with a screaming cat in the hallway — Euclid, being neurotic, which falls under his job description.
Immediatley afterwards, I realized I was in pain. One of my teeth has been feeling weird for a while, but nothing approaching pain — I’d actually describe it as “encased in cork” if that makes sense. Well… it started hurting in the middle of the night, and it is a tooth anchoring a bridge, so it’s not something I can get easilly done in Portugal. (Yes, I know those are supposed to be dead through root canal first, only this one has already had two go rounds.)
Appointment with doctor — for which I do not have the time — in about an hour.
Afterwards, I’ll try to do what I can in terms of packing/laundry/etc. It’s going to be a long day, particularly if I end up spending the afternoon in emergency dental surgery.
THIS is the kind of luck I battle against…
On the very slighty bright side. Better now than on the plane…
Hope its fixed swiftly

appears to be an infection on the gum, which is weird, since I use mouth wash religiously. Doctor said “perhaps a taco chip pierced the bum” but, I’m on no carbs. So… I have no idea. I’m fairly sure my doctor thinks I chew on rocks and gravel, judging from previous injuries… Anyway, I have antibiotics and pain killers.

I am terrified of those long, long Taco Chips! Which is why I refuse to eat the solid ones, preferring the limpy kind…. Grin.
The mental image, of a Taco Chip so long, hard, and _sharp_, as to pierce the bum — Aiiieeeee! Was it plain, BBQ, or loaded with Hot Peppers, by the way???
Good Luck, mit der Dr. Driller. As long as the reconstructions specialist is not related to the folk who planned and built the Mississippi Levees, which are both too close to the River, and too low to protect against major floods!

I’ve got a gap in my teeth awaiting an implant when the bone firms up enough from running a fever for two months or so, so you’ve my sympathy. I find it largely useless to focus on the blessings of living with modern dentistry versus what dominated the field up until 1950, but it does limit my whinging on about things. Glad you caught it before leaving and my sympathy for the inconvenience inflicted by its not manifesting sooner.
