You’ll be fine. There are still honest agents and publishers out there. In my over ten years of doing this, I’ve only once signed a contract I had SERIOUS qualms about. Oh, okay, I signed a few short story ones on which I had serious reservations, but that’s something completely different. I have nowhere near the emtional or physical investment in shorts as in novels and depending on the short I might not have a chance to sell it elsewhere.
Anyway, seriously, all Kris is trying to say is to be VERY careful whom you sign with.
